9 Try GAB put on a show!

Waterlogged pitches had caused two postponements and with the ground not looking great again, the 4G pitch at Quins was booked to ensure the game could go ahead.

GAB registered the first points with George Pamenter kicking over a pen, only for Chesham to strike back with a converted try. 3-7

Gosford were applying the more consistent pressure and after a 1-2 down the touch line with Elliott Newell, Harry Sutton went over near the corner. George Pamenter sending over the first of many excellent conversions for 10-7

Chesham scored again after the home side tried to force things but instead allowed their rapid centre too much space. 10-14.

Thanks to an excellent turnover by Rhys Andrews, possession was nearly immediately back with Gosford and a break through from Alex Jackowski saw Rhys back on his feet for the offload and to dive over. George knocked over the easy extras for Gosford to retake a lead they wouldn't give up 17-14.

A couple of pieces of flair led to the next try - a wide miss pass from Harry Sutton found James Groves, and his delightful chip over the top bounced perfectly to Harry to gather and go over. A great strike from George saw the extras added 24-14

A well worked team try was the next to deliver points - a crisp line-out, some punches up the midfield before an offload out of a tackle by George Pamenter saw Sam Malton take a few defenders over the line with him and register the bonus point try. Another sweetly struck conversion from wide out and it was 31-14.

The final score of the half saw try scorer become try assister after Sam Malton broke through the midfield, and caught by the last man his offload found Tommy Heydon on hand to take the ball the final few metres with a powerful finish. George's conversion (that's 6/6 for the half...!) led to a half time score of 38-14.

As in the first half, Chesham registered the first try, and it was their speedy centre again given too much space. 38-19.

Sam Malton was provider again as he put George Pamenter over under the posts. George duly converted his try. 45-19

Gosford were playing a bit more freely and a delicate chip over the top from Harry saw Alex Jackowski pounce on the bouncing ball and carry 30m, before offloading to James Groves to step one and pace off into the corner. As George was slotting over yet another excellent conversion, James's parents were happy they'd seen enough and headed home in time for the England match. 52-19

Chesham did get a deserved bonus point score, that same centre again causing trouble, but this time his half break was stopped but he found his winger who took advantage of some poor tackling to get over the line. 52-24

GAB bench was being unloaded, and it was one of the subs who played a key part in the next score - Rhys Hayward receiving another long miss pass from Harry Sutton, drawing the last man and putting George over for his second score. The first and only blemish on George's kicking record on the day as he missed the extras. 57-24

There was time for one more score from captain-on-the-day Dan Hughes. A pick and go from a couple of metres out led to one more excellent conversion from George and the final score of 64-24.

Tap Social Man of the Match - George Pamenter 9/10 kicks and 2 tries was a great return from the Possum.
