Saturday 9th December saw 9 Gosford All Blacks women team up with 6 of Reading Abbey 2s for an afternoon of rugby against Reading University 2s. The game was held at the Reading Abbey ground and consisted of 2 x 30 minute halves.

We knew we were in safe hands with the Abbey women from the off, following a recent fixture against them. A good warm up and set of drills meant we started the game as one team, scoring 2 tries in quick succession during the first 10 minutes. A few of us felt out of our depth initially but the Abbey women and the ref soon put us at ease. Before we knew it we were in amongst it and the first half flew by. The Reading Uni 2s were much younger and quicker overall, and managed a few tries in the second half but couldn't quite take the win. A 25-20 victory for the Gosford/Abbey (Gabbey) team.
